Was really hoping to find a well-fitting winter shoe good enough for hiking, but the last isn't going to work. The toe space looks ample from the shape, but is all scaled too small. Top toe nail and outside toe is crushed into shoe. Even if the shoe packs out, will be a cold spot in the shoe. There is no real heel pocket, so the insole length is almost all the foot gets. Pictured to illustrate the problem. When squatting --essential hiking activity-- the heel hits the back of the shoe. Same would happen on a steep climb. Going hiking in these would be a disaster, but I'll keep them as a winter city shoe just to see if they break in well. Btw, I can only fit thinnest liner socks in there!
